7 Healthy Tips On How To Get Fit For Your Wedding

Now that you’ve picked a lovely design for a wedding gown, the next step is to make sure that it fits you perfectly! But staying in shape is not just important for bridal fashion or wedding photos, it’s also for the bright future you’re building with your partner. So, here are tips to help you get fit on your wedding day and beyond.

    Start your wedding workout early

Getting started with a workout might be the most difficult part for many brides, but the key to starting and maintaining a good routine is to start early. Once you have chosen your  wedding rings and a flattering  wedding dress for your body type, it’s the perfect time to plan your workout. Having a gorgeous gown that you want to look great in is a foolproof way to motivate yourself to start working out.

The ideal time to start your wedding workout is 12 weeks prior to the big day. If you’re already a gym regular, however, 8 to 10 weeks might be enough. Consider other factors such as the time you’ll allot for wedding planning in order to come up with a realistic timeline. Additionally, if you can start even earlier, then you can start with a simpler routine, like a 10-minute full-body workout. When you get the hang of it, you can make your try longer and more complex exercises.

    Create a workout schedule

In the months leading up to your wedding day, you’ll have plenty of things to do: meeting with suppliers, sending out invitations, and the like. So, consciously putting exercise in your schedule will help you remember and stick to your workout regimen. It’ll also help you see how much time you can actually spare for working out.

Planning your workout will also give you time to prepare things like your gym membership, appropriate shoes, a  long sleeve top and leggings or shorts. It’s also good to invest in  period-proof underwear for hassle-free workouts.

    Personalize your fitness routine

The types of exercises you do will depend on your capabilities and needs. But a good way to select exercises is to focus on the areas that your wedding dress will highlight. If your wedding dress highlights your arms, then compound exercises such as chest presses and lat pull downs are best.

If you’re looking for a workout that will also target your mental health, yoga is a great option. Plus, you can check out  yoga influencers online and watch their videos without paying for a subscription, so you can save some money, too. Last but not least, staying fit can be more fun if you integrate things that you like, such as a workout playlist that includes your favorites.

    Get a workout partner

What do you do on days when you can’t convince yourself to work out? Perhaps not much if you’re working out alone. But if you recruit a wedding workout buddy, then you’ll be sure to have someone who will make you accountable and who’ll remind you of why these workouts are important. Your workout partner could be your best friend, your spouse-to-be, or a trainer from your gym, as long as they can match your energy and schedule and keep you on track.

    Track your efforts

So, you started your workout months before the big day but you can’t seem to see any difference. That could be a discouraging moment. But to avoid feeling that way, it’s good to set goals and monitor your progress as you conduct your workouts. You could set a specific and measurable goal, such as a certain weight or waistline, and measure your weight and waist as you go along. Or you can just keep a log of your workouts and take note of how you’re feeling, i.e., if the workouts are  getting easier for you to do. Whichever way you track your progress, it’s good to have a record of your workout sessions. That way, whenever you feel disheartened, you can see how far you’ve come.

    Find time to relax

Don’t forget to make time for de-stressing! Stretching and meditating as you do some yoga poses is a good way to hit two birds with one stone. But you don’t have to practice yoga to find that balance. Besides all the preparations you’re doing for your wedding, make sure that you still have time for yourself. Write your thoughts in a journal, take a long walk in the park, or meet up with some friends. Every now and then, do a little something that will take your mind off of preparations and keep you energized.

    Eat healthy food

Getting your body wedding-ready won’t be complete if you don’t watch your diet. Eating nutritious foods will ensure that you not only look fabulous, but feel wonderful, too. Your wedding diet will require some changes. Generally, a diet of lean proteins, whole grains, and lots of fruits and veggies can do the trick. Remember to drink plenty of water, too.

    Final thoughts

Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day. So, start your workout early, create a schedule and personalized routine, find a workout buddy, and track your progress. Don’t forget to de-stress and eat a balanced diet to ensure that your mental and physical health are in prime condition when you walk down the aisle.

If you have the right equipment and mindset, consider your job 50% done. Buy high quality workout apparel from  Zensah to get your pre-wedding workout started.
