Did you know that as of, 2022, our entire catalog of Limited Edition socks (that's right: no show, mini crew, & knee high) are now made with over 50% recycled materials. And this is just the beginning. We're transitioning more and more of the best-sellers you know and love to recycled materials and fibers that use less water, energy, and waste. So now you can shop for your performance favorites and feel like you're doing your part, because we're doing our part.
We choose our fibers not only for their performance features and durability, but also for their sustainability as well. Many of the fibers we use have important elements that make them inherently sustainable. Read about a few of our main materials below.
Merino Wool - Merino wool is a natural, renewable, biodegradable fiber that has special properties for breathability and temperature regulation.
Tencel - Tencel is a fiber that is comprised from wood fibers or pulp, making it natural and biodegradable.
Our Packaging - At present, the majority of our packaging is made from recycled cardboard. We aim to continue adopting recycled materials for the remainder of our packaging, as well as to continue to develop sustainable packaging and shipping components for our products. Not only do we put care and attention into our products, but also how they're packaged.
Most people don't know that seamless manufacturing is a near-zero waste process. Compared to cut-and-sew techniques, seamless produces little to no excess fabric waste.
Producing an item with the seamless method is an “additive” rather than “subtractive” process. This means we make products by adding material on knitting machines until the garment is completed.
All of Zensah's socks, sleeves, and apparel are made with seamless knitting techniques and, therefore, these items are part of a conscious and waste-saving process.
