NYC Marathon Edition: Limitless Looks Like Danielle Metlitz
November 01, 20222 min read
"The NYC marathon is exhilarating. If anyone is going to run a world major, NYC is BY far the most energetic and vibrant of the three in the USA." You probably have read this, if you've seen our NYC City Guide for runners. As we celebrate this major marathon, we had to quote Alli Felsenthal's unique and vivid description of the feeling. Just like we had to speak with Zensah's Ambassador Danielle Metlitz, who is about to experience this unexplainable energy for the first time.
ZS: How did you get into running? Why do you run?
DM:I started distance running as a New Year’s goal to run a 10K. It quickly went from 10K to 10 Miler to Half Marathon to Marathon! I run to challenge myself, to clear my mind, and to overall be a better me.
ZS: Why are you running in the NYC Marathon this year?
DM:This will be my first time. This is my dream race! I was lucky enough to snag a lottery entry in 2020. I deferred to 2022 and I can’t wait to cross the finish line!
ZS: How are you training for the upcoming race?
DM: I am using a Hal Higdon plan to train.
ZS: What advice do you have for fellow runners or those working towards marathon goals?
DM:Make sure to have fun, take your easy runs easy, and enjoy the journey. You will have good and bad days… just keep going!
ZS: What are your Zensah must-have products? Why?
DM:My favorite products are the Mini Crew Socks and the Compression Leg Sleeves. I love the patterns and they keep my feet blister free.
ZS: What is one quote you live by? Or a personal mantra? (can apply to running or life!)
DM:“I can and I will”
ZS: What is your favorite place you’ve ever run?
DM:My favorite place I have ever run was in Rhode Island along the beach.
ZS: What other hobbies do you love (in addition to running of course):
DM: I love spending time with my family, hiking, and visiting new places.
ZS: Where can people find you? (on social media and at upcoming races in addition to NYC!)
DM:@danielle_runs_ is the best place to find me. I am also looking for a fun Spring Half… I’ll keep you posted there!!
