    What's the best pre-race combo?

    Valerie Gay, a Certified Personal Trainer & Certified Sports Nutritionist gives us helpful tips related to nutrition for athletes!

    Personally speaking, I have found this to be an effective pre-race/ pre-workout combo that is not a gut bomb:

    • Electrolyte or salt base such as Precision 1000 or Precision 1500 - (electrolyte)
    • scoop of UCAN OR scoop of unflavored collagen peptides - (slow release glycogen/protein source)
    • scoop of aminos - (protein building blocks)
    • spoonful of beet root powder - (natural source of nitric oxide boost)

    I put these in a blender or blender bottle to mix.

    Plus (I take these as individual capsules)

    • L-Theanine - (mental focus and alertness)
    • TeaCrine - (energy boost without crash)
    • Magnesium - (energy production and metabolic efficiency)
    • Ginseng - (energy and focus)

    This combo contains NO harsh stimulants, artificial sugars, artificial flavors, or allergens.  It is not the best tasting mix but it works with no side effects and no tummy troubles!
