Name: Sabrina Lopez
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Sport: Cross Country and Track and Field
Years in current sport: 8 years
What got you started: I had a choice during high school, to play any sport that I wanted: basketball, volleyball, soccer or softball. One of my friends had convinced me to join the track and field team, and so I did, which is what got me into running. I chose running because I did not want to be a bench warmer anymore, so I listened to my friend. I chose running because I was actually great at it. This is why, I LOVE RUNNING because I had the choice to not quit and it is up to you to get better! Running is not only about running, but also the strength of one’s mind. The mental process and growth is much more rewarding than just the physical results.
Biggest accomplishment of your career: My biggest accomplishment has to be winning the CIF California State Meet my senior year of high school as well as going to NCAA D2 Nationals collegiately.
What parts of your training are key to your success? One thing I do in my training is working on getting my body stronger. I feel it helps me mentally when I am racing, such as having strong abs, arms, and legs. Gym training is important in a successful running regimen. Another key is listening to your body and coach. When your coach tells you to take a day off or take an easy run, LISTEN! You will learn the hard way, by having a bad race or workout. So believing in your training is VITAL in running.
What is the biggest challenge you face in your sport, and what do you do to overcome it? My biggest challenge I face is being impatient. As a stubborn runner at times, I want to see results. But I’ve learned over the years to take each day a step at a time. The way I overcome it is to make goal sets for myself, and know my time will come soon. Patience is key!
What is your favorite Zensah product and why? My favorite has to be the Compression Leg Sleeves because they are bright and help me stay recovered.
How long have you been using Zensah? 2 years
If you could be great at any other sport besides your current one, what would it be? I would have chosen soccer.
What’s your favorite thing to eat after a tough workout? My favorite thing to eat is a turkey bacon, hash brown, and egg sandwich with a side of fruits. YUM! J
Who/what inspires you? Close friends inspire me. I have many friends who have high goals to make it to the Olympics. As I see them all becoming better athletes, it helps me to stay motivated because we share our success when we connect.
How does Zensah help you perform without limits? Zensah helps me perform without limits because the compression helps my legs recover. I use Zensah sleeves when I am at work, sleeping, running, etc. I love the feeling of knowing I am doing something good for my legs.
